Thailand's Wonderfruit Festival
by Anjelica Jardiel
Equipped with camera in hand and adventure on her mind, Tripper Photo Director Anjelica Jardiel set off to experience the best of what Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival had to offer. Located at Siam Country Club in Pattaya, one of the country’s most beloved beach destinations (also known as backpacker heartland), the festival celebrates all things art, music, and life. The festival’s ethos lies in the aspiration to “be a catalyst for positive change and seek to find creative ways to live sustainably and responsibly” which is instantly evident upon entrance. The plethora interactive art installations, farm-to-feast eats, workshops to broaden the mind and soul, wellness activities, and an all-star lineup of ridic musicians and DJs make for one hell of a 3-day adventure. What started out as an assignment of intrigue, turned out to be a completely life altering experience. Check out her insanely gorgeous photo diary and daily itinerary below.
By Day:
Yoga, photo walks, wood carving, ceramics, cooking classes, arts and crafts, gong meditations, one-of-a-kind shopping, breast casting, puppies and babies
From Sunset to Sunrise:
Dancing, climbing the Solar Stage, more dancing, unexpected drum circles and fire shows, confetti, sparks flying, warm colors, a documentary about plastic, lights, lazers, lounging, live music, dirty feet, DJs, cuddle piles and contemplative moments
All the Time:
Interactive space, art installations, good vibes, fine food, beautiful people, no cash (just a fancy wristband), endless smiles and all around inspiration
Oh, and the dancing never stopped.
4 days, 24 hours a day. 3 years running, and there will be a 4th. Wonderfruit Festival is one of those experiences that lingers for weeks and changes you. Maybe it's the drugs, but maybe it's just being alive in a place like Utopia. It's tripped out, no doubt.
